China is strong, because it is old. Times change and China sometimes look weak and sometimes even is weak. But it survives, while other Empires fade and disappear. The Chinese existed alongside the pharaohs of Egypt. But the pharaos disappeared, China stays. Then Rome was the greatest until it wasn’t. China went on. Byzantine Empire, British Empire, they all rose and fell, China somehow survived.
Long Yu, Chinese live and work in US
China is not particularly strong in 2020…it is about the same but a bit stronger than China in 2019…
China is still significantly weaker in conventional military than the US.
China is still significantly weaker in nuclear capability than the Russia.
China is still significantly weaker in high precision manufacturing than Germany and Japan.
China is still weaker in fundamental scientific research than US, Japan and many other countries.
China is indeed stronger than many countries…but neither China nor the world cares about them…

What are the specifics, economy or militarily?
It’s not that China is so strong. It’s the west that has weakened that has made China looks strong.
