Huawei launches first product with own operating system
Dongguan (China) (AFP) - Chinese telecom giant Huawei, which has been caught in the crossfires of the Washington-Beijing trade war, on Saturday unveiled a new smart television, the first product to use its own operating system.
The television will be available from Thursday in China and marks the first use of HarmonyOS, chief executive George Zhao said, adding that it will be marketed by its mid-range brand, Honor.

All they need to do is spread it all over Asia. Do that, and you open the world market for a genuine Android/iOS competitor.
Just forget about geopolitical issues. Right now, it's EXTREMELY important to ensure that another mobile operating system ends up in at least a hundred million hands. Doesn't matter where they are. Just make it happen so we can all get out of this binary trap we're in.
